Our proteins are oven roasted. Before steaming, all of our produce is washed in a 2-1 water and vinegar bath to kill any bacteria and remove possible residual pesticides. We then finely grind them for maximum absorption. Our legumes soak over night for greater digestibility. We use flash frozen fruits for peak flavor and vitamin content. Why? To retain maximum nutritional value for your cherished family member.

We dehydrate at a low temperature for pet parent convenience

When preparing a meal use a measuring cup, or digital scale, to obtain the correct amount of food per serving. Warm/heat enough water to cover the food. Let stand for 5-10 minutes, stir and serve. Depending on your pup’s preference, you can add more liquid and create more of a stew or soup consistency. We like to use more liquid to ensure that our kanine kids are always well hydrated.

It is imperative that any leftovers be refrigerated, or disposed of.

Transitioning your pup to our food is an easy process. If you have a kanine kid with a delicate tummy it may take a little longer, but slow and steady will get you there. We recommend that for the first 3 days you feed ¼ of our food with ¾ of the regular food. During the next 4 days you will feed ½ our food and ½ of the regular food. For the following 3 days you will feed ¾ of our food and ¼ of the regular food. Finally, when you see that the poop is looking firm and there is not tummy upset you can feed them 100% of Bon Appetreat meals. Once your kid is on our food you can move easily between one flavor and another without a need to transition again.

We also like to suggest that you weigh your pups at the beginning of the transition, and again three weeks later. You may have to adjust up or down the quantity of food to keep them at their ideal weight. Lastly, please don’t over feed. It may seem like they are begging for food, but we have found that it is more about how much they like it than a need for more calories.

As with all changes checking with your Veterinarian is always a good idea.

This recipe is approved for all live stages. However, puppies that will ultimately be larger than 70 lbs at maturity must be feed our special large and extra large puppy recipe.

We all have our budgets, and you can still feed your best friend Bon Appetreat. You can add our real food to your existing commercial dog food. It will add nutritional density, and value to every meal. Follow our transition process, and add as much as you can comfortably afford. Make sure that you calculate the calories so that you don’t over feed.

After a Flavor Test Drive we don’t expect many returns, however, if you have extenuating circumstances please email for a “RA = Return Authorization”, and we will gladly refund your purchase price. We do not refund shipping cost. We require that returns happen within 30 days of purchase, and that there is at least 75% of the product remaining. No returns on Flavor Test Drives.
